Aviation Facility Planning

KAP provides conceptual design (specifically related to RFP's), design development solutions and construction documents for airport retail and concessions spaces and other related aviation facility planning. We are highly committed to the wide spectrum of green goals, initiatives and applications in airport concession programs, meeting or exceeding the targets identified in the Sustainable Airport Manual (SAM) and in related LEED programs.

The SAM program's scope ranges from sustainable site planning, water efficiency, and energy efficiency, to green materials & resources, indoor environmental quality and construction practices. What makes the SAM relevant in the airport concessions environment is its focus on the scale of venue specific locations. For food service, for example, reducing or eliminating disposables, sourcing local and regional foods, using sustainable foods sources, and implementing a composting strategy for food waste all help to reduce the energy required for food production, support local food economies and help define a locations 'sense of place'.

Restaurant and retail visual concepts, space planning, flow diagrams, kitchen layouts, and appropriate green strategies are all a part of our scope of work. Furthermore, we can provide overall master planning focusing on issues such as security layout interface concerns.
