Eco Developments  |  Vulcan and La Pintada, Panama

Located 8º north of the equator, these two proposed master plans are for future, mixed-use communities in starkly different locations. Vulcan is located on the western side of Panama at the base of a dormant volcano, while La Pintada is located in a mountainous region between Vulcan and Panama City. The plans are designed in response to these radically unique topographies. Vulcan’s gently sloping terrain allows for views optimized towards the volcano. La Pintada’s steep slopes required a careful consideration of road slopes and elected vistas to the surrounding mountain ranges.

Both plans incorporate a range of highly efficient, regionally influenced designs for single family homes, a small scale condo building, local retail store, and a gourmet restaurant. A continuous walking trail connects these spaces and a series of outdoor activity spots.
